College Park is located in Orlando, Florida and named after the streets within it that were named after prestigious institutions such as Princeton, Yale, and Harvard. It’s a popular area to live being in such close proximity to downtown and it’s filled with mostly residents of working age and homeowners.
The majority of the households don’t have children but are between the ages of 18 and 49. It’s a popular area to live for young professionals and seniors being in a great location with great amenities.
Living in College Park
Since the main road of Edgewater Drive was re-striped to be more pedestrian-friendly back in 2002, the area has become more walkable and bike friendly. There is a 7-story mixed-use building on this business district road called “The Wellesley” which contains residential units and commercial space.
You’ll find that the intersection of Edgewater and Princeton is where everyone wants to be, thanks to all of the shopping, dining, and nightlife options here. The quaint neighborhood has many bungalow-lined streets named after prestigious universities while the area of Edgewater offers more of your commercial needs.
You’ll be able to spend your days relaxing in one of College Park’s lovely parks and beautiful lakes. Albert Park is a great spot for lunch while Loch Haven Park offers a big of culture at the Orlando Science Center and Orlando Shakespeare Theater. Check out Lake Ivanhoe and Lake Adair where you’ll find walking paths and playgrounds for kids.
Grab something to eat at Les Petit Pleasures, a small French bakery in the area, or at Graffiti Junktion where you can get a creative burger. Get some new activewear over at Sassy Pants or hit the unique shops like Beachcomber’s Bazaar and Dechoes Resale. End the night over at Ollie’s Public House where you’ll enjoy a mixed drink in a mason jar or at Paxia Alta Cocina Mexicana & Tequila Lounge.
The kids will have great school options here between the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School for elementary and Bishop Moore Catholic High School, as well as great public and private institutions like the Lake Highland Preparatory School, Edgewater High School, and St. Vincent’s Academy. Spend time with the kids at the baseball field at Mathews Park or taking a dip in the pool at the College Park Community Center & Pool, or taking lessons at the Dubsdread Golf Course which once hosted Tiger Woods.
College Park is not only a family-friendly neighborhood near everything you need, it’s full of beautiful long brick streets with massive oak trees, cozy bungalows and lakefront lots, as well as all of the entertainment you could need from the great restaurants to the trendy boutiques.
