Orange County is the heart of the Orlando and Central Florida area and is so named not because of the once popular Citrus industry in the county but for the name Orange Island which was given to this area of Central Florida that first surfaced from beneath the ocean millions of years ago. The county stretches North and West to Lake County, North to Seminole county on it's East side, South to Osceola County and East to Brevard County.
