About UCF Area
The University of Central Florida is growing and so are the areas surrounding UCF. New construction and remodeled older homes are much in demand.
Also known as East Orlando, the UCF Area is the neighborhood and housing options surrounding the University of Central Florida. It's a dynamic neighborhood with a very diverse feel. While traffic can be a bit heavy throughout the area, there are certainly benefits to living near one of the largest universities in the entire country.
Real Estate in the UCF Area
Many of the homes found throughout the UCF area are shielded from the tourism areas of Orlando. A number of gated communities are found here including Avalon Park, Waterford Lakes, Vista Lakes, Union Park, UCF and even Lake Nona. These communities make up the area known as East Orlando or the UCF Area.
While some buyers in the East Orlando area call it home, many are looking to rent out their homes to students attending the university. The faculty and some alumni do enjoy living in the area, as well. Most of the owner-occupied homes are single-family options.
Things to Do in the UCF Area
With the university nearby, there's never a shortage of things to do in the UCF Area. The university offers a number of sporting events every year, along with cultural attractions and plenty more. UCF's Conservatory Theater is very popular for plays, while many film viewing and lectures are also held on campus.
This section of Orlando is also well-known for great nightlife and plenty of ethnic restaurants. Many of the local bars do cater to the college students, but there are some good choices when it comes to sports pubs and jazz clubs, as well.
The area is also full of great shopping and all kinds of restaurants. It's a booming area with many new businesses opening every year. Of course, those living in the UCF Area are also close enough to Orlando to enjoy the many attractions found throughout downtown and the surrounding area.
The University of Central Florida
UCF is known as an American metropolitan public research university. It's the largest in the entire country based on undergraduate enrollment and total enrollment. The University serves more than 63,000 students and has more than 11,000 staff members.
UCF Area Location
The UCF area is found just 13 miles from Downtown Orlando and a short 55 miles from Daytona Beach. It's a desirable location for those working on campus or even those commuting into the downtown area. With Daytona Beach less than an hour away, many residents enjoy easy access to the beach and the Atlantic Ocean, as well. The location also provides easy access to the Orlando International Airport.
Living in the UCF Area
Those choosing to call the UCF Area home enjoy plenty of things to do throughout and a variety of real estate options. Even if you don't work on campus or plan to attend the university, this area of Orlando still has plenty to offer. Residents enjoy a convenient location to many of Orlando's best attractions and Daytona Beach is just a short drive away.
Living in the UCF Area provides the option for an active lifestyle with plenty of culture found throughout. The university provides many events throughout the year and this is a very popular area for unique restaurants.
