The largest lake found in the Clermont chain of lakes, Lake Louisa provides plenty of space and plenty of homes. Half the lake is a part of the Lake Louisa State Park, while the northern end is full of residential subdivisions and waterfront homes.
Lake Louisa State Park
Found just a short drive from Orlando, the Lake Louisa State Park covers about 4,500 acres. It's known for the rolling hills and beautiful lakes and has been designated as an Outstanding Florida Water Way. Lake Louisa may be the largest lake at the park, but Dixie Lake and Hammond Lake are also very accessible from the state park.
The state park provides a place for kayaking, fishing, canoeing and many other outdoor activities. It's also known for an abundance of wildlife including raccoons, squirrels, white-tail deer, bobcats, osprey, bald eagles and gopher tortoises. Many other activities are available at Lake Louisa State Park including equestrian, picnicking swimming, hiking and more.
The Homes Near Lake Louisa
Lake Louisa provides a number of great homes throughout the northeaster section of the lake along Lake Louisa Road. Many of the homes have docks with boat access and some even have wooded lots. Many of the homes were built in the 1960s and 1970s and some have been renovated with more modern-day features. This area of Lake Louisa offers many homes from about $500K to $1 million.
Along Oswalt Road, on the western side of the lake, there are many homes with waterfront access. Some lots are available with waterfront access on two or even three sides in this area. Homes on the western side can range from $200K to $800K and lots for sale in this area range from $75K to $200K. Those looking to build on Lake Louisa will find plenty of options on the western side of the lake.
Homes found on the western side of the lake were built after 1960 and come with one to three acres of land. Many provide docks and boat access, while some may need a dock put in, but it's very possible in this area. Homes found around Lake Louisa are served by the Lake County Public School District. This district includes Pine Ridge Elementary School, Gray Middle School and South Lake High School, which are all highly rated. Students in this area also have access to some private schools.
