Here's something a lot of people don't realize when they start exploring Hunter's Creek: the community has its own internal road network that works like a self-contained town grid. Getting that orientation right from Day One will save you a lot of GPS confusion.
The two roads you absolutely need to know are Hunter's Creek Boulevard and Town Center Boulevard — the community's twin east-west backbones, with John Young Parkway threading north-south through the middle. Master those three roads, and you've basically cracked the code on getting around one of Central Florida's most popular master-planned communities.
The Big Picture: How Hunter's Creek Is Laid Out
Hunter's Creek is a roughly 4,000-acre development in southern Orange County, about 16 miles south of Downtown Orlando, spread across more than 35 single-family neighborhoods and several commercial zones. Zip code 32837. Two major regional roads frame it: SR 417 (Central Florida GreeneWay) runs along the northern edge, and South Orange Blossom Trail (OBT) forms the eastern boundary. John Young Parkway bisects it north-to-south — and those two east-west boulevards complete the internal grid.
Hunter's Creek Boulevard: The Northern Spine
Hunter's Creek Boulevard originates at South Orange Blossom Trail on the community's eastern edge and sweeps westward through the northern residential zones. It intersects John Young Parkway near the community's center, then continues west into the western neighborhoods. Heading east from OBT, you'll also find Falcon Trace Boulevard branching off — that's the connector to the Falcon Trace subdivision and the famous Gatorland attraction next door.
The neighborhoods along Hunter's Creek Boulevard include some of the community's most established subdivisions. Calabay Cove — a gated enclave of 104 homes surrounded by conservation land and lake fountains — sits off Hunter's Creek Blvd west of John Young Parkway. Eagles Landing, the very first neighborhood built in Hunter's Creek with construction beginning in 1986, also takes its address from this corridor, with Eagle Lake wrapping around its perimeter. The Vista-branded neighborhoods cluster near Hunter's Creek Blvd's western reaches, convenient to Vista Park.
Here's the thing about this boulevard: it's primarily a residential road. You'll see the consistent aesthetic that defines Hunter's Creek — private brick perimeter walls, uniform neighborhood entry signs, lush landscaping — but you won't find a lot of storefronts here. This is where people live. Your grocery run takes you elsewhere.
Town Center Boulevard: The Commercial Heart
Town Center Boulevard tells a different story. This is where the action is. Running parallel to Hunter's Creek Blvd but through the community's southern half, Town Center Boulevard stretches from South OBT westward across John Young Parkway, then continues into the Vistas neighborhoods near Shingle Creek. The four-lane roadway eventually extends east across Florida's Turnpike all the way to the Meadow Woods community — making it one of the more regionally significant east-west connectors in this part of Orange County.
The section of Town Center Boulevard between OBT and John Young Parkway is the commercial spine everyone's looking for when they first move in. This is where you'll find the SuperTarget at 2155 Town Center Blvd, Hunter's Creek Town Center, Hunter's Creek Plaza at 4101 Town Center Blvd, and a solid lineup of restaurants and services. The Publix-anchored shopping center on John Young Parkway sits right at the intersection of these two roads — essentially the community's town square. Neighborhoods Along Town Center Boulevard
The residential neighborhoods branching off Town Center Boulevard include some of Hunter's Creek's newer and larger communities. Glenhurst, located to the south off Town Center Blvd, is a beautiful single-family neighborhood known for its lakefront lots. Carrington (106 homes built between 1995 and 1998) fronts Town Center Blvd west of John Young Parkway, its entrance framed by the same brick walls and signage you'll see throughout the community. Vida Vista and Terra Vista — part of the Vistas collection — sit further west off Town Center Blvd, convenient to Vista Park. Falcon Pointe's address also references this corridor, between John Young Parkway and OBT.
The Third Road You Can't Ignore: John Young Parkway
No discussion of Hunter's Creek navigation is complete without acknowledging John Young Parkway (CR 423), the north-south arterial that intersects both boulevards. The Publix shopping center, the Ale House, Gator's Dockside, and a growing collection of independent restaurants line the JYP corridor. To the south, JYP heads toward Kissimmee; to the north, it runs toward Dr. Phillips and central Orlando.
The intersection of John Young Parkway and SR 417 (Exit 10) is arguably the community's most important junction. Head west on 417 and you're 10 miles from Walt Disney World. Head east and you're connecting toward Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Lake Nona. That access — without ever touching I-4 — is a big part of why Hunter's Creek earned its reputation as one of Central Florida's most conveniently located communities. Town Loop Boulevard: The Supporting Player
One more internal road worth knowing: Town Loop Boulevard loops through the community's northwest corner near the SR 417 corridor, serving apartment communities like Camden Hunter's Creek. The Hunter's Creek Community Association offices are addressed at 14101 Town Loop Blvd — so you'll see that address on HOA correspondence.
What the Locals Know
New residents tend to learn the same things the same way: by getting briefly confused. Here are the orientation tips that short-circuit the learning curve.
- Hunter's Creek Blvd = northern residential. Great for reaching Eagles Landing, Calabay Cove, and the Vistas. Not great for finding dinner.
- Town Center Blvd = southern commercial. Target, restaurants, Town Center — all here. This is your daily errand road.
- John Young Parkway = the dividing line. East of JYP is closer to OBT and Florida's Turnpike. West of JYP is quieter, closer to the golf course and conservation areas.
- SR 417 access is a community superpower. Exit 10 at John Young Parkway puts you on a toll road that avoids I-4 entirely for most Disney, airport, and Lake Nona trips. SunPass or E-PASS makes it seamless.
- The Loop and Crosslands are just south — not inside Hunter's Creek. Both retail centers are technically in Osceola County, just across the community's southern border in Kissimmee. Still totally walkable-adjacent from the southern neighborhoods.
