What to expect in Dr. Phillips

The neighborhood was named after Dr. Phillip Phillips, the citrus magnate from Central Florida response for innovations in the orange juice processing and packaging industry. Most students living in the area attend Dr. Phillips High School and benefit from the two magnet programs including the Center for International Studies and the Visual and Performing Arts.

Being a sought after area of Orlando only makes sense as Dr. Phillips is being called one of the “best places to live” according to “Money Magazine.” The Magazine looked at the best places to live in America based on towns of 10,000 to 50,000 people to make the call. With towns eliminated for poor education scores, higher poverty, and other factors that affected resident’s quality of life, it left room to rank places with a better quality of life.

Looking at three places per state with homes values under $1 million, factors like housing affordability, diversity, and job growth were able to be analyzed. Dr. Phillips ranked at number 26 being the only Florida city on the list. Part of its higher ranking was the close proximity to local theme parks and the high rate of job growth.
