Poinciana is most well known as an affordable housing area in the far southwest area of Kissimmee. Poinciana is actually half in Osceola County and Half in Polk County. It mainly consists of two "island" looking land areas that are linked together by two roads in the North and South. Both of these "islands" are surround by wetland, creeks and lakes. This makes the community one of the more remote areas of the Orlando metro area. The large Solivita 55+ Active Adult community is located in Poinciana as is the Nature Conservancy's Disney Wilderness Preserve. Poinciana's Main Roads

Marigold Ave and Poinciana Parkway is the main North-South artery while Cypress Parkway is the main East-West route through the community. I-4 is the closest major road to Poinciana and is accessible through Poinciana Parkway. I-4 will take you West to Tampa or North to Daytona.
