Central Florida Counties

Regionally, there are 3 areas that make up the state of Florida, North Florida, Central Florida, and South Florida. Central Florida consists of two major Metro areas, Tampa Bay and Orlando. Lakeland in Polk County is the bridge that connects the two but depending on which side of Polk County you reside, you may feel a stronger connection to either Tampa or Orlando. The Central Florida area is also home to the Space Coast which runs from Daytona Beach down to Melbourne Beach. Both of which, while out on their own, are considered part of the Greater Orlando Metro area.
