Hickorynut Lake is a 403 acre, freshwater lake in West Orlando. Hickorynut Lake is a large lake that is almost entirely encapsulated by the Waterleigh community. There is no public access to the lake short of several of the neighborhoods surrounding the lake offering docks out onto the lake. There are a couple of dozen homes in an older neighborhood along the West side of the lake that have private boat docks on the lake and you will occasionally see boaters and skiers on the lake.

Neighborhoods on the shores of Hickorynut Lake include Waterleigh Phase 1 on the lakes North and East shore, the Avalon Cove neighborhood on its Southeastern shore and Waterleigh Phase 2+ on its Southwestern shore.
