Right after the tree lighting, the front steps of Winter Garden's First Baptist Church (125 E. Plant Street) host Christmas in the Garden: A Big Band Christmas Concert at 6:30 PM, featuring an all-star band and the Foundation Academy Steel Drum Band — steel drums playing Christmas music in 70-degree weather, about as Florida-Christmas as it gets.
The Light Show at City Hall
A Merry Winter Garden Light Show is the sleeper hit — an animated holiday projection synchronized to music on the front facade of Winter Garden City Hall (300 W. Plant Street). The Holiday Night Market and Golf Cart Parade

Then at 6:00 PM comes the only-in-Florida moment: the 13th Annual Winter Garden Christmas Golf Cart Parade. Judging includes Best Overall, Most Lights, People's Choice, Best Costumes, and a Wild Card. Light Up Winter Garden and the Christmas Parade kick off the City's 'Tis the Season campaign — 31 days of holiday programming running December 5 through January 4. Highlights:

This is where new residents go wrong: they assume they can drive to Plant Street and find parking. They cannot. Plant Street between Dillard and Park Avenue is closed Friday afternoon through Saturday night, and side streets fill up fast.
The City runs a free, continuous shuttle from 4:00 to 10:00 PM Friday, picking up at two offsite lots and dropping at Dillard and Plant Street: Dillard Elementary School (311 N. Dillard Street) and 848 East Plant Street (across from the Winter Garden Library).
For Saturday's parade, arrive by 9:00 AM, park on a side street outside the closure zone, and walk in. Coming from Horizon West or Windermere? SR 429 (Western Beltway) drops you minutes away via the Plant Street exit. Coming from Ocoee? Maguire Road south or Highway 50 west.
