Winter Garden - Orlando, Florida

Found about 14 miles to the west of downtown Orlando, Winter Garden is located in Orange County. It's considered a part of the Orlando-Kissimmee-Sanford Metro area and has a population of about 35,000 residents and growing rapidly. The city features a historic downtown, the West Orange Trail and plenty of other amenities for residents to enjoy.  Winter Garden is a huge area that runs from Lake Apopka down to the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.  

There are three areas to Winter Garden. Old Winter Garden which is where downtown Winter Garden is located and North of the Florida Turnpike.  The Winter Garden Village area which features many new neighborhoods where once orange groves stood.  Finally, the Horizons West area which is a hybrid of both Winter Garden and Windermere areas combined and is located West of the Butler Chain of Lakes and North of Walt Disney World.

Things to Do in Winter Garden

Some of the most popular things to do in Winter Garden are found on the south side of the city. This is where the more modern shops and newer restaurants are found, along with movie theaters and more. The Winter Garden Village is one of the top spots for dining and shopping within the area.

Along with shopping and dining, Winter Garden is home to a 22-mile biking/walking trail, museums and more. Plenty of great golf courses are found nearby and the many lakes provide even more outdoor activities for residents to enjoy. Some of the best points of interest found in Winter Garden include:

Stoneybrook West is home to one of the golf clubs in the area, which provides a great choice for golfers. It's also home to Black Lake. Independence is another community in Winter Garden with a lake. Many homes are found on Lake Hancock within Independence. This community also offers a number of amenities including a club house, fitness center, bike trials, boat ramp, ski lake access, dog park and swimming pools.
