The standard route is Conroy-Windermere Road east to SR 408 east, exit at Orange Avenue or Mills Avenue depending on your destination. SR 408 is the workhorse, and it works — most days. Two reasonable routes:
- The Sand Lake Road / FL 528 route — east on Sand Lake Road, south on John Young Parkway or directly onto FL 528 east. Best for southern Windermere (Summerport, Lakes of Windermere) and slightly faster off-peak.

Lake Nona is the longest of the major Windermere commutes, and it's the one most people underestimate. The route is SR 417 south the entire way — a toll road that becomes a parking lot southbound between 4:30-6:30 PM, particularly between the airport exit and Narcoossee Road. - Dr. Phillips / Restaurant Row / Sand Lake Road business district — 8-12 minutes via Conroy-Windermere Road or Apopka-Vineland.
- Universal Orlando and the I-Drive corridor — 12-18 minutes via SR 408 east or Conroy Road.
