A massive county covering a large amount of land northeast of Orlando, Volusia County is home to many popular beaches. It's home to Daytona Beach, Ormond Beach, New Smyrna Beach, and many other beaches.
Volusia County is located just north of Sanford and Titusville about 48 miles from downtown Orlando. The county stretches from the coast of the Atlantic Ocean to the Ocala National Forest to the Charles H. Bronson State Forest and to the Lake George Conservation Area.

Things to Do in Volusia County
Volusia County is probably most well-known for the beaches. Daytona Beach offers a very popular place for vacation, along with the many other beaches along the coast of the county. In addition, Daytona Beach is home to the International Speedway, which olds the Daytona 500 NASCAR race every year.
The Marine Science Center is another very popular attraction here with plenty to offer. It's a sea turtle rehabilitation center with seven hospital pools visitors can enjoy.
One of the best places to enjoy throughout the county is Blue Spring State Park. This park offers manatees all throughout with 2,600 acres. It's home to one of the largest springs on the St. Johns River known as the Blue Spring. This spring has been designated at a manatee refuge.
The DeLand Naval Air Station Museum is also found here with more than 50 years of history. It's filled with old planes, Navy boats, and helicopters.
The Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse is another very popular attraction in Volusia County. This lighthouse is visited by nearly 200,000 people per year. It offers a National Historic Landmark you can climb to the top of and enjoy amazing views.
