Umatilla Florida Known as the "Gateway to the Ocala National Forest" Umatilla is a charming community with plenty to offer. Location of Umatilla, FL

Found just to the south of the Ocala National Forest and to the northwest of Orlando, Umatilla is a very popular location. It's about 43 miles from Downtown Orlando and about 50 miles from Walt Disney World. Leesburg, FL is found nearby just 19 miles from Umatilla. Of course, the Ocala National Forest starts just to the north of the community.

Real Estate in Umatilla

Umatilla real estate offers plenty of options when it comes to smaller communities for home buyers to choose from. Lakenridge is one of these communities and dates back to 1966. This community offers larger homes and many have been remodeled or updated since they were first built. Homes range from 2,162 to 2,862 square feet with two, three, or four bedrooms. It's common for homes to be situated on a three-quarter acre lot.

Another popular neighborhood offering homes in Umatilla is called Three Lake. This community offers mid-size homes and dates back to 1954. Homes were built between 1954 and 2004 with 944 to 3,194 square feet. A variety of home styles are found throughout the Three Lake community.

Things to Do in Umatilla

With plenty of excellent lakes nearby, Umatilla is known for the water activities and outdoor recreation. Plenty of swimming, fishing, tubing, kayaking, boating, and other water activities are found all throughout the area. In addition, the Ocala National Forest offers plenty of other outdoor recreation opportunities nearby.

North Lake Community Park is found nearby and provides plenty of fun things to do outdoors. Another nearby park residents enjoy is Mctureous Memorial Park.

Umatilla History Museum Umatilla is also close to some of the major lakes found within the Harris Chain of Lakes. Lake Eustis, Lake Yale, Lake Dorr, Lake Dora, Lake Norris, and many smaller lakes are all found near this popular community.

Wildlife and camping are also very popular within the area. Umatilla is known for the many white-tailed deer in the area and the camping opportunities. There's even a luxury RV park for those looking to camp in a less primitive way.

Umatilla also offers several airboat tours throughout the area and plenty of dining and shopping to choose from.
