Known as a hidden gem in Florida, Arcadia offers a rich history with a prime location. It's a smaller community offering plenty of privacy. If you're considering relocating to Florida, Arcadia might be a good choice to call home.
Living in Arcadia
Choosing to buy a house in Arcadia means you'll gain access to a beautiful area with a few great events every year. It was once a very popular area for raising cattle and was known for the many cowboys living throughout. Today, it's still a bit rural but has plenty to offer for those looking to move to Florida.
Where is Arcadia, FL?
Found in DeSoto County, Florida, Arcadia is located to the southeast of Tampa and the north of Fort Myers. It's found about 89 miles from Downtown Tampa, about 49 miles from Sarasota and about 47 miles from Fort Myers.
Highways 17 and 70 cross within the town providing easy access to nearby communities. The location is a great choice for those looking to live a bit inland, but still, have access to the beach. It's close enough to Fort Myers and Tampa for day trips, while Orlando and Miami are just a few hours away, as well.
Homes for Sale in Arcadia
Finding a home for sale in Arcadia isn't hard. It's not uncommon to find equestrian properties and cattle ranches within the area. Many of the homes found within Arcadia offer some acreage.
Many other homes in neighborhoods are also found here. Arcadia tends to offer more affordable homes for sale than some of the other communities nearby. However, homes with acreage tend to come in at a higher price.
Some very luxurious homes are found throughout Arcadia with some providing more than 5,000 square feet of living space. This community tends to have something for just about any home buyer, from first-time homebuyers to those seeking a larger home or a home with acreage.
Things to Do in Arcadia, Florida
Arcadia isn't a large community, so it's not filled with attractions. It does offer quite a unique history with cowboys and cattle as a huge part of history. The community still embraces these roots and it's located in the middle of Florida cowboy country.
It's not uncommon to find rodeos throughout the area. Arcadia is also home to the De Soto County Fair held every year and the Watermelon Festival. It's filled with areas for canoeing and plenty of wooded areas for camping, as well.
Spending time on the water or out in the wood is very popular within Arcadia. It's known for outdoor activities and has a vibrant equestrian community, as well.
Many RV resorts and campgrounds are found throughout the area. The community also offers a couple of golf courses and a vibrant Main Street area downtown.
Morgan Park and Storybook Park are both found within Arcadia. The community is also home to The Tree Of Knowledge and it's close to several other parks.
Deciding to move to Florida means you have plenty of communities to choose from. Arcadia provides a great choice for those seeking a simpler life in a more rural community.
