Worth being straight about: the historic Garden Theatre at 180 W. Plant Street has been mostly dark since closing in October 2024 due to financial difficulties. - Gotha or Windermere: 10–15 minutes via Maguire Road
- Downtown Orlando: 25–30 minutes via the 408 and SR 429
The smartest move during Spring Fever weekend is to bike in on the West Orange Trail — the trail runs straight through downtown.
What the Locals Know
Locals have a rhythm. The opening reception at SOBO in the first week is the best night to meet artists. Spring Fever weekend is the high-traffic showcase, but the second and third weekends are quieter and most exhibitions are still up.
The Chalkin' It Up sidewalk pieces stay readable for a few days after the festival, weather permitting. Don't sleep on the City Hall gallery — it's the most overlooked stop because people don't think of City Hall as a venue, but the student work is consistently strong and you'll have the room to yourself.
