The Lakes at Harmony is a gated 55-plus neighborhood set inside the master-planned community of Harmony, in the rural northern reaches of Osceola County near St. Cloud, between Buck Lake and U.S. 192. Construction began in 2016, with Lennar building the original phases and Jones Homes USA taking over the later phases starting in 2019. What sets it apart is the community-within-a-community setup: residents get their own gated, age-restricted enclave with separate amenities, plus access to everything in greater Harmony — a development built on the rule that 70 percent of its land stays open space, organized around two large lakes, wetland preserves, and an 18-hole golf course.
Inside the gates, residents have a private clubhouse with a fitness center, craft and hobby rooms, a library, and a pool, along with tennis, pickleball, bocce, and shuffleboard courts and a full-time activities director running clubs, mixers, and live music. Step outside the 55-plus section and the rest of Harmony opens up: the Johnny Miller–designed Harmony Golf Preserve — an 18-hole, par-72 course on a 260-acre Audubon-certified preserve — a Town Square with shops, a grocery store, and restaurants, more than 12 miles of connected trails, two community pools, and dog parks. A community boat-share program gives residents access to Buck Lake and Cat Lake, and top-rated Harmony schools serve the wider community. Everyday errands stay close — Publix and Walgreens are about five minutes out, with more St. Cloud shopping near ten and Orlando International Airport roughly twenty-five.
Homes are single-story, low-maintenance, single-family residences built for active adults, with open layouts and energy-efficient construction. Lennar's original product came in three collections sorted by lot width — the Sanctuary Series on 40-foot lots, the Florida Series on 50-foot lots, and the Palm Series on 60-foot lots roomy enough for a three-car garage — generally two to three bedrooms, though some plans stretch further. The unusual part for an age-restricted community is the size range: floor plans reach roughly 2,900 to 3,000 square feet, well above the typical 55-plus footprint, and many homesites back to conservation, water, or the golf course.
