Villages of Windmeadows sits in northeast Altamonte Springs, in Seminole County, off Palm Springs Drive just north of SR 436 in the 32701 ZIP. The condos were built in the early 1970s — listing and county records put it at 1971 to 1972 — and the original builder isn't on record. What sets the community apart is location and access: it's an age-restricted 55+ community where residents can walk out a private back gate directly into Publix on one side and AdventHealth Altamonte Springs on the other, with the Altamonte Mall and Cranes Roost Park a short walk away and an I-4 on-ramp minutes off.
Inside the community, day-to-day life runs on two swimming pools and a clubhouse, with the HOA covering internet, cable TV, sewer, trash, water, and grounds maintenance. The bigger draw is what's within walking distance. Cranes Roost Park anchors Uptown Altamonte with a paved lakeside walking trail, an amphitheater, and nightly fountain shows, while the Altamonte Mall and its surrounding shops and restaurants sit just across the way. For anything farther out, I-4 puts Lake Mary, Sanford, and downtown Orlando within easy reach.
Housing here is exclusively low-rise condominiums — mostly one- and two-bedroom layouts, with units on the market ranging from about 1,056 square feet up to roughly 1,500, many with enclosed patios and an inside utility room with washer and dryer. It's a low-maintenance setup by design, with the HOA handling exteriors, grounds, and most utilities, which is much of the appeal for the 55-and-older buyers it's built for. The standout feature is still those gates: few condo communities at this price point let you reach a grocery store and a hospital on foot without crossing a road. Resale units turn over steadily — fourteen sold in the year leading up to late 2025 — and tend to sell within a few months.
