Found just southeast of Lake Wales, Babson Park is a part of Central Florida. It's found about 36 miles from Lakeland, FL, and about 62 miles from Downtown Orlando. Babson Park offers a unique location within driving distance of several larger cities in Florida.

Tampa is found about 69 miles from Babson Park, while Fort Myers is about 107 miles away. Even Miami is close enough to reach by driving at 211 miles from Babson Park.

Babson Park is located very close to several lakes including Crooked Lake, Lake Clinch, Reed Lake, Lake Easy, Lake Lenore, Lake Moody, and Lake Wales. With several lakes nearby, it's a popular location for those seeking plenty of fun on the water.

Things to Do in Babson Park, Florida

Most of the activities in Babson Park fall under the category of outdoor recreation. The lakes provide plenty of things to do on the water and plenty of other natural areas are found nearby.

Crooked Lake Prairie offers two miles of shoreline on Crooked Lake. It's filled with trails, sand dunes, and plenty of great fishing to enjoy.

The Crooked Lake Sandhill is a very popular trail to enjoy, as well. It's filled with wildflowers along the Lake Wales Ridge and provides one of the best examples of sandhill habitat left in the area.

Babson Park also offers a nature center called the Babson Park Nature Center. This sanctuary is home to many rare species and offers a quarter-mile trail to discover the ecosystem of the area.

Several other attractions and things to do are found throughout this small community and nearby, as well. Lake Wales is close and offers a few unique attractions, while Lakeland is just a 45-minute drive and provides even more things to do and places to go.

If you choose to call Babson Park home, you'll get to live in one of the most unique places in Florida. It's known for the unique natural habitat and provides plenty of things to do on the water. With affordable homes and a small-town atmosphere, this might be the perfect place to call home.
