MetroWest, a master-planned community in west Orlando in zip code 32835, has four primary breakfast destinations: Keke's Breakfast Cafe at 2433 S Hiawassee Rd, Achilles Art Cafe at 2295 S Hiawassee Rd, Achilles Art Cafe on Wilshire at 2869 Wilshire Dr, and Mecatos Bakery & Café at 2900 S Kirkman Rd. For traditional Sunday brunch with mimosas, MetroWest residents typically drive 5 to 10 minutes south to Dr. Phillips, where Burntwood Tavern, First Watch, and @ The Diner cluster on Dr. Phillips Blvd. The Achilles cafés are closed on Sundays.
Let's be straight: MetroWest isn't a brunch destination the way Winter Park's Park Avenue is, and we're not going to pretend it is. What MetroWest does have is a small, useful cluster of breakfast and coffee spots locals actually use — plus a 5-to-10-minute drive south to Dr. Phillips, which absolutely is a brunch destination.
So this guide does two things. First, the real breakfast options inside MetroWest proper. Then the nearby brunch spots in Dr. Phillips and Windermere that MetroWest residents end up at on Sundays.
Breakfast and Brunch Inside MetroWest
Keke's Breakfast Cafe — MetroWest
Address: 2433 S Hiawassee Rd, Suite 130, Orlando, FL 32835
Hours: 7:00 AM – 2:30 PM daily
The MetroWest staple. Keke's started in Florida, grew into a regional chain, and the Hiawassee Road location is a genuinely useful sit-down breakfast and brunch spot inside the community. You'll find the usual suspects done well: omelets, eggs Benedict, pancakes, French toast, breakfast skillets, and a lunch menu after the breakfast crowd thins. Hand-cracked eggs, real butter, no microwave — their pitch, and the food backs it up.
Important: Keke's also has a Millenia location on Conroy Road that marketing sometimes calls "MetroWest." They're not the same restaurant. The Hiawassee location is the one inside MetroWest.
Achilles Art Cafe — Hiawassee
Address: 2295 S Hiawassee Rd, Unit 100, Orlando, FL 32835
Hours: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM Monday through Saturday. Closed Sunday.
If MetroWest has a beloved independent café, this is it. Opened in 2008 by Achilles "Ash" Mainoglou — a German transplant who arrived in Florida in 1999 with $30 to his name — Achilles is coffee-shop-meets-wine-bar with art on every wall (most for sale, no commission taken). Breakfast leans café-style: croissant and bagel breakfast sandwiches, plus the namesake Achilles Sandwich (ham, turkey, feta, pressed). Coffee comes from Golden Hills, a Fair Trade and Organic roaster in Groveland, FL.

Achilles Art Cafe on Wilshire

Hours: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM Monday through Saturday. Closed Sunday.
The second Achilles location, tucked into the Wilshire Drive side of MetroWest near MetroWest Village. Same menu, same vibe, same Sunday closure. When Hiawassee is packed (it gets cozy fast), Wilshire is the relief valve.
Mecatos Bakery & Café — MetroWest
Address: 2900 S Kirkman Rd, Orlando, FL 32811
Hours: 6:00 AM – 9:00 PM Monday through Saturday; 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM Sunday
The wildcard of the MetroWest breakfast lineup. Mecatos is an Orlando-based Colombian bakery and café established in 2015, and the Kirkman Road location serves MetroWest's western edge (technically 32811, but everyone calls it MetroWest). The menu skews bakery-forward: Colombian pastries, empanadas, pan de bono, buñuelos, and breakfast plates that lean Latin rather than American diner. Coffee is the draw — proper Colombian café service, not chain drip.
It's the only one of the four open early (6:00 AM weekdays) and open all day Sunday, making it the de facto Sunday morning option if you don't want to leave MetroWest.
The Sunday Brunch Question
Here's what nobody wants to say out loud: actual Sunday brunch — bottomless mimosas, buffet, sundresses-until-2-PM brunch — does not happen inside MetroWest. Keke's and Mecatos are open Sundays, but they're breakfast spots that happen to be open Sunday, not brunch destinations. The Achilles cafés are closed.
If that's what you want, you drive south. 5 to 10 minutes to Dr. Phillips, home to Restaurant Row. We don't think this is a failure of MetroWest; it's geography — quieter, more affordable housing inside the community, with a 10-minute drive to a serious food scene next door.
Brunch Just Outside MetroWest: Dr. Phillips and Windermere
Not in MetroWest, but close enough that residents treat them as the neighborhood brunch list. Drive times below are from the center of MetroWest.
Burntwood Tavern (Dr. Phillips) — ~8 minutes south

Saturday and Sunday brunch with $10 bottomless Bloody Marys and mimosas. Chef-driven American menu, copper-topped bar. The boozy-brunch answer for MetroWest residents.
First Watch (Dr. Phillips) — ~7 minutes south
Closest First Watch to MetroWest. A chain, but a beloved one — fresh-squeezed juices, breakfast staples done consistently, closes mid-afternoon. Expect a wait Sundays; go early.
@ The Diner (Dr. Phillips) — ~8 minutes south
Address: 5072 Dr. Phillips Blvd, Orlando, FL 32819
Family-owned breakfast and lunch known for big portions, Nutella-stuffed French toast, and a Puerto-Rican-meets-American menu. Verify current hours before going — this address briefly housed a different concept called "The Fork" that has since closed. Call ahead.
Dixie Cream Cafe (Windermere) — ~12 minutes southwest
Address: 434 Main St, Windermere, FL 34786
Southern-leaning breakfast and brunch in downtown Windermere, in a building that used to be the local post office. Famous for biscuits, Bananas Foster French toast, and shrimp and grits. Closed Mondays. Worth the drive for a "destination breakfast." More on Windermere.
A Quick MetroWest Geography Note
For relocators: MetroWest is a roughly 1,800-acre master-planned community in west Orlando, anchored by the MetroWest Golf Club (a Robert Trent Jones Sr. design that opened in 1987) and the MetroWest Village retail center. The dining scene reflects its history — planned, suburban, walk-from-your-condo rather than dense restaurant strip. Living in MetroWest if Brunch Matters to You
The practical relocation read: if "Saturday brunch within walking distance" is non-negotiable, MetroWest probably isn't the right fit — try Winter Park, Baldwin Park, or Downtown Orlando. If your priorities are reasonably-priced gated condos and townhomes, golf course access, a 10-12 minute commute downtown, and a short drive to good restaurants in Dr. Phillips and along Sand Lake Road — that's MetroWest. Brunch is "drive 7 minutes," and that's fine for most people. Horizon West and Ocoee are worth a look if you're casting wider.
What the Locals Know
If you live in MetroWest, the unwritten brunch rulebook: weekday breakfast is Achilles or Keke's. Saturday morning, same — depending on whether you want a café or a sit-down. Sunday morning close to home, it's Mecatos or Keke's. Sunday brunch with mimosas means driving to Dr. Phillips. Dixie Cream in Windermere is the special-occasion option — birthdays, family visits.
One thing: parking is easy at all four MetroWest spots, which isn't something you can say about most Orlando brunch destinations. That alone is why MetroWest residents stay loyal to the cafés in their own zip code.
