Kissimmee Community Contacts & Resources

Contact each utility provider listed in the Utilities section at least one week before your move-in date. For electric service, contact Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) at (407) 933-7777 — KUA is a community-owned municipal utility that has served Kissimmee since 1901. For water and sewer, contact Toho Water Authority at (407) 944-5000. For trash pickup, the City of Kissimmee's Solid Waste Division handles residential collection — call (407) 518-2507. Natural gas service is available from TECO Peoples Gas where applicable. You'll need your new address, move-in date, and identification. Some utilities require deposits for new customers.

New Florida residents must register their vehicles within 10 days. In Kissimmee, contact the Osceola County Tax Collector at (407) 742-4000 to register your vehicle and obtain Florida license plates. The main office is at 2501 E. Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy, Kissimmee, FL 34744. You'll need your out-of-state title, proof of Florida insurance, and identification. The Tax Collector's office also handles driver license issuance — so you can handle both in one trip.

Use the Osceola County Public Schools enrollment portal at osceolaschools.net to find your zoned schools based on your address. For property maintenance violations, overgrown lots, or zoning issues within city limits, contact Kissimmee Code Enforcement at (407) 518-2133 or report online at kissimmee.gov. For issues in unincorporated Osceola County (communities outside Kissimmee city limits), contact Osceola County Code Enforcement at (407) 742-0400. For emergencies or criminal activity, call 911 or the Kissimmee Police non-emergency line at (407) 846-3333. Note that resort communities and HOA-governed neighborhoods like Bellalago and Tapestry may also have internal HOA enforcement processes.

Apply with the Osceola County Property Appraiser at (407) 742-5000 before March 1st to receive the exemption for that tax year. You must own and occupy the property as your primary residence as of January 1st. The office is located at 2505 E. Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy, Kissimmee, FL 34744. The homestead exemption can reduce your taxable value by up to $50,000, and Florida also offers additional exemptions for veterans, seniors, and persons with disabilities.

Kissimmee is surrounded by waterways including Lake Tohopekaliga, making alligator encounters more common than in inland communities. Most alligators are not dangerous if you keep your distance. Call the Nuisance Alligator Hotline at (866) 392-4298 if an alligator is 4+ feet long AND poses a threat to people, pets, or property. Never feed alligators — it's illegal and makes them dangerous. Keep pets away from water's edge, especially at dawn and dusk. If you live in a waterfront community like Bellalago, extra caution near the shoreline is always advised.
