This resort-style community covers more than 800 acres and provides 1,120 homes. It's found on a 72 par championship golf course and includes tree-lined streets. Home prices in Zellwood Station start around at less than $100K and go to about $170K.

Homes outside of Zellwood Station are more expensive. They may go up as high as about $400K.

Who Lives in Zellwood

Zellwood Corn Festival Zellwood was home to 2,540 people according to the 2000 census and there were just over 1,400 housing units. The majority of the residents were married couples age 45 and older. Only 9.5% of the household had children under 18 years of age, but nearly 36% were non-families and nearly 24% were households with someone 65 or older living alone.

One of the major reasons retirees choose Zellwood is the weather. The average high is 93 degrees in July, while the average low in January is just less than 50 degrees. The area does receive over 48 inches of rainfall a year, but it doesn't receive any snow.

Most of the residents in Zellwood live in the 55+ community called Zellwood Station. This neighborhood provides plenty of activities for retirees and those old enough to live here. The golf course is well manicured and challenging, while the country club provides events and all kinds of other activities.

Living in Zellwood provides a quiet destination outside of Orlando. It's easy to head into Orlando for the day, but you can stay right at home and find plenty to enjoy.
