Downtown Windermere is a Windermere neighborhood of approx 400 homes and features community tennis courts, multiple parks, town library, ice cream shop and restaurants and shops in the quaint downtown area of Windermere.

Downtown Windermere is surrounded on nearly all sides by the lakes. Lake Down to it's East, Lake Butler to it's West, Wauseon Bay to its North and Lake Bessie to its South. Downtown Windermere residents appreciate not only the finer things in life, but also a day spent barefoot and out on the lake skiing, fishing or just taking in the Florida sun.

It's small area, less than 2 square miles, and unique location has made it a highly desirable area in Orlando and has attracted other high end neighborhoods over the years. Directly to its South is the prestigious Isleworth Country Club. Across Lake Butler, the Windermere name has expanded Southwest to the back of Walt Disney World, however, Downtown Windermere remains the original that led to all the growth into what is now considered Windermere.

It is located in the 34786 zip code in Orange County which is central and heart of the Greater Orlando Metropolitan Area of Central Florida.

The Isleworth Country Club and Lake Butler Estates neighborhoods are next to Downtown Windermere. The Florida Turnpike and the 408 and 429 expressways are close by providing quick access to all points of interest within Orlando and the Central Florida area.
